Varsha studied at the University of Baroda, Faculty of Fine Arts , she has a Bachelors degree in Painting and a Masters degree in Art History.
She later was influenced by MF Hussein (at Lawrence school Sanawar ,Simla Hills) and by Vivan Sundaram ( nephew of Amrita Sher-Gill) at his home studio in Kasauli ,Simla Hills.
Her major medium of work has been using ‘ oil on canvass’
She had been the president of the Chandigarh Arts society, exhibited at Chandigarh, ,Panjab University, India, Rowville ,Victoria and on three occasions been part of the group artists exhibition at the Camberwell Art show (Melbourne).
Her initial work has been in landscapes, later works involved still life , portraits and mandalas .
Her work has been influenced by her extensive travels to all the world’s major museums and her visit to Alice Springs and exposure to Australian Indigenous Art .
She uses a combination of styles , ranging from ‘Realism’ to ‘Painterly’ and has her own style using several mediums from pen ,acrylic and oil on canvass.
However her artist mantra has been to paint in an easy going eclectic manner and also been an inspiration to many .
